Current guidance regarding Covid-19
A person who tests positive or develops symptoms of Covid-19 must self isolate for 10 days from the date of the test or first symptoms. You must also self-isolate if you are told to do so by NHS Test and Trace.
Children, along with fully vaccinated adults, are no longer required to self-isolate if they live in the same household as someone with Covid-19 or are a close contact of someone with Covid-19. Therefore, your child can continue to attend school as normal unless they develop any of the Covid-19 symptoms.
If your child develops any of the Covid-19 symptoms;
- a high temperature
- a new, continuous cough
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
they should not attend school and should take a PCR test.
We would ask, where possible, that secondary aged pupils continue with twice weekly testing using the rapid lateral flow tests; Sundays & Wednesdays. Test kits are available from the school, please inform the class teacher when you require more test kits.
If a LFD test result is positive the pupil will need to self isolate immediately and a follow up PCR arranged to confirm the result.
