The governors are seeking a skilled, enthusiastic Assistant Headteacher to work at our school. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated, enthusiastic and proactive senior leadership team, supporting the Headteachers and Governors overall leadership, development and management of the school.

The team looks forward to welcoming an Assistant Headteacher who has had significant experience of the secondary curriculum and has extensive knowledge of the development and learning for children with SEND.  

 The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the Upper School and will be required to teach 0.6 within this department. They will be required to take a leading role in the monitoring and evaluation of standards across the Upper School and support the SLT in monitoring standards across the school as required. To take responsibility for the development and lead of a specific school improvement area and to be a leading professional actively promoting effective teaching and learning across the school.

Location:  Kings Mill Residence

Hours:      13hrs per week

To work as shift leader and act as a member of the residence senior management team.   

You will be reliable and enthusiastic with an ability to engage with children and young people who have varying special needs. A minimum of two years’ experience working with this client group is required.

 The successful candidate will hold a Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent and be competent in writing reports and compiling information. A Level 5 in childcare or equivalent would be desirable; alternatively the successful applicant must be willing to work towards this qualification at the earliest opportunity.  You will have a good understanding of current practice, key legislation as well as the social, emotional and psychological development of children and young people.
