Sport
At Kings Mill School, we believe in an inclusive approach to physical education, sport and the promotion of healthy, active lifestyles. We are committed to ensuring that every pupil, regardless of their ability or individual needs, has the opportunity to enjoy, participate in and benefit from a wide range of physical activities.
Every class takes part in a weekly PE Lesson in our school hall, where activities are carefully adapted to meet the needs of all learners. Alongside this, we are fortunate to have a range of specialist facilities that support our pupils' physical development, wellbeing and sensory needs. These include our on-site hydrotherapy pool, a dedicated rebound therapy room, a sensory swing room and outdoor play areas with accessible swings and inclusive play equipment.
Pupils also benefit from regular swimming sessions at our local leisure centre, helping them to develop water confidence, swimming skills and physical fitness. Our sixth form students have additional opportunities to promote lifelong health and wellbeing through access to the local leisure centre, as well as on-site exercise equipment that supports independent fitness and healthy lifestyle choices.
As active members of the local School Sports Partnership, our pupils enjoy taking part in a wide variety of sporting festivals, competitions and inclusive events throughout the year. These opportunities not only enourage physical activity but also enable pupils to build confidence, develop teamwork and communication skills and form friendships with pupils from other schools across the local community.
Through our PE curriculum, specialist facilities and enrichment opportunities, we strive to inspire every pupil to lead an active, healthy and fulfilling lifestyle while celebrating personal achievement and success at every level.
