All admissions are handled by the Local Authority after formal consultation with the Head Teacher. All pupils attending the school have an EHC Plan and therefore will have undergone an extensive assessment before entering the school.

The residence provides short break provision for young people currently on the Kings Mill School roll, from the age of 8 until their 18th birthday.

Stays in the residence are determined by a panel of representatives from agencies in conjunction with local authority policy.  The local authority oversees applications and determines which pupils are most suitable for placement in agreement with the school.
