    Local Authority SEND Ofsted Inspection

    Dear Parents and Carers,

    Please find attached a letter from Ofsted that I have been asked to send to you.

    We are being visited on Wednesday 13th October as part of an Inspection of the East Riding provision for Children and Young People with SEND. Please note that this is not an inspection of Kings Mill School.

    As part of the visit the inspector will be talking to pupils and staff and would also like to meet with parents. If you would like to attend this meeting in school, at 2:30pm please could you contact the office, ASAP, who will take your name so we can make appropriate arrangements. The meeting has been scheduled for the end of the day so that you can take your child home with you, if necessary.

    Kings Mill School Wolds 20 Challenge Fundraiser Walk

    Staff at Kings Mill School will be taking part in a 20 mile walk on Saturday 23rd October 2021 to raise funds for the Residential Trip Fund. The event will start at 9am from Millington Woods and will give your the opportunity to take in the beautiful scenery of the Yorkshire Wolds.

    If you wish to take part please contact the event organiser Rachael Smith on rachael.smith@kingsmill.eriding.net

    Participation is £10 per person and includes refreshments throughout the day. All family and friends are welcome.

    Senior 2 have good news - our Fabulous Friday Takeaway is back! Homemade sweet and savoury treats for you to enjoy in school or take home. Most items 50p.     Counselling for Carers Survey

    Mary Moverley & Sue Wong are part of a group of Therapists, who are also parent carers, looking to set up a Community Interest Company to offer low cost counselling and psychotherapy to unpaid carers. They are trying to reach as wide an audience of unpaid carers as they can to ascertain the need for this kind of service.

    Attached is the participant Information Form and link to the survey. Participation is entirely voluntary and any date collected will be encrypted and compliant with GDPR guidance.

    Updated Privacy notice

    The privacy notice detailing how we use pupil information has recently been updated and is available to view on the school website under GDPR & Privacy notices.

    We would also advise that every school holds a Data Sharing Agreement with IntraHealth Ltd who co-ordinate immunisations in schools. This enables us to share relevant pupil information and parental contact details, however if you would prefer not to be contacted directly by the immunisation team please let the school office know.

    AMENDED: Term dates 2021-22

    Due to the additional bank holiday planned for the Platinum Jubilee next year, the government has shortened the school year for 2021-22 by one day and the summer term 2022 will now end on Monday 25th July.

    The term dates calendar has been updated to reflect this and the training day moved to Monday 28th February 2022, when the school will be closed to pupils.
