Proud Puffins21 September 2020 (by charlottedowson) |
On Friday Puffins learnt about the Jewish festival of Rosh Hashanah. We learn that Rosh Hashanah is the start of a new year in the Hebrew calendar. We also learnt that to celebrate Rosh Hashanah the Jewish community eat apples and honey to symbolise a sweet new year and they blow a ram's horn known as a Shofar. In the Puffin class we ate apples and honey but felt it was unsafe in current times to blow a horn.
