Humber Youth Action Group - NHS Volunteering Opportunity 11-25

13 June 2022 (by ahall)

The Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust now has a youth group called the Humber Youth Action Group (HYAG). We recognise that young people have an important part to play in improving NHS services.

The HYAG brings those aged 11-25 in Hull and East Riding together with the goal of helping our organisation improve its services for children and young people, including services such as CAMHS and the new Hull and East Riding Children's Neurodiversity Service. To learn about all of our services for children and young people, please click here.

The group meet virtually around every 4-6 weeks for approximately 1.5 hours, as well as face-to-face workshops across different locations in Hull and East Riding within the year. The virtual sessions are fun and friendly, where young people can meet other like-minded people to share their thoughts, ideas and experiences of health and local health services.

We offer members the opportunity to:

  • Help improve NHS services for others
  • Make a real difference
  • Meet new people and grow in confidence
  • Gain new skills, access training and new experiences
  • Participate in NHS interview panels
  • Improve their CV and personal statements
  • Get involved in wider community youth projects
  • Receive lots of rewards and treats along the way

If a student would like to join, please can they complete our consent form: https://www.humber.nhs.uk/Get%20Involved/hyag-consent-form.htm and an induction pack will be sent via email to them. If you, a parent or a young person have any questions or would like to know more, please email hnf-tr.HYAG@nhs.net.

Kind regards,

Bethia Dennis
